We painted glass: we create the stained glass panel "Fish"

Glass painting is a delicate and elegant way of decorating, previously available only to selected professionals. However, modern advances in the field of synthetic resins and dyes now allow decorating glass and lovers. Using paints using different techniques, it became possible to paint glass, mirrors, ceramics, metal and other similar materials.

In this master class, we will show you how to create a chic "Fish" panel with your own hands based on the motives of Terry Zhiletsky.

- working surface (glass);
- sketch 1: 1;
- stained paints;
- IDEA stained contours in two colors: No. 137 Gold Light, No. 151 Gold is dark;
- alcohol or degreasing agent;
- solvent to clean the brush;
- brush, palette knife number 45;
- crystal paste Maimeri 727;
- light paste Maimeri 731;

The sketch is made in mirror reflection, that is, the front part of the panel will be smooth, and the working surface (paint, gels, contours) will be hidden from the inside. Sketch attached to the glass with tape around the perimeter and put on a flat surface. The glass surface must be well degreased.

We start painting with drawing contour. Apply slowly, making the line a uniform thickness.

The contours should close well, excluding places with breaks. This is necessary in order to avoid paint flowing over each other.

In this sketch, two contour colors are used. After application, let it dry well.

Getting down to the color part. Apply paint in closed relief areas. To make the picture more realistic and richer, you can apply stretch colors - from dark to light, or transitions from one color to another.

After a good drying of the paint, we apply Maimeri 727 crystal paste on some areas with a palette knife.

You need to apply a little, smoothing it over the surface so that the lenses fill the entire filling surface.

After the paste dries, the lenses will become more transparent.

Then we continue to fill in the rest of the color elements with a sketch. After coating each pattern, it is necessary to allow the paint to dry.

Now we apply Maimeri 731 light paste. It will help to imitate water. Apply also a palette knife in a chaotic manner, trying to put the average size of the strokes. Too much pressure on the surface is not necessary, because it is important to leave the relief "waves". With this technique, the paste may hit the contour, but in our version it is permissible.

When the paste dries well (becomes transparent), you can apply a background color over it. Color transitions are also used here.

If the paint falls on the contour, then you do not need to despair, because we draw on the technical back side. From the front (back) side everything will be perfect!

When all the paint is dry, you can remove the sketch (or it could be removed even after drawing the contour). Since the panel will stand in a backlit niche, it is necessary to check that the entire surface is filled with paint (even small slots). It is enough to lift it vertically and look at the lumen.

Turn the panel on the front. Now the panel is ready! Can be mounted in a niche.

And backlit ...
